We offer a full medical risk profile analysis through medical questioning, body composition assessment, blood testing and physical examination. This will help to identify current underlying disease or your risk of developing any lifestyle related diseases. These include cardiovascular disease (heart- and blood vessel disease, stroke), other lifestyle related diseases like diabetes mellitus, insulin resistance, blood pressure abnormalities, hormonal problems cancer and other.

After completing the risk profile analysis, we provide you with a comprehensive intervention plan to chance your health and lifestyle for the better. This includes medical therapy when needed, a personalized nutritional/diet plan, vitamin boosts, supplement suggestions and exercise guidelines appropriate for your profile. Follow up support and reassessment appointments is set, to keep you on track and motivated!

Step 1: Screening

  • Risk- and health assessment questioning (done by doctor during consultation)
    • Cardiovascular risk
    • Diabetes risk
    • Osteoporosis risk
    • Mood/depressive disorders
    • Cancer risk
    • Vitamin and mineral deficiencies
    • Other potential health risks
  • Body composition analysis:
    • Bio-electrical Impedance Analysis to measure your body composition (fat %, muscle mass, water balance)
    • Measurement of your Body Mass Index (BMI)
    • Physical measurements like waist, hips and all other relevant
    • Calculation of your basal (resting) metabolic needs/energy usage
    • Calculation of your daily (active) energy needs, adjusted to your level of activity
    • Calculating the energy (KJ) need for weight loss, weight gain, or weight maintenance over a specific period of time
  • Full medical examination by Medical Doctor including:
    • Thorough physical examination
    • Blood pressure measurement
    • ECG (electro-cardio-gram), as per indication
    • Urine analysis
  • Blood screening adapted to individual indications:
    • Fasting lipogram (cholesterol profile)
    • Fasting glucose (sugar)
    • Homocisteine
    • Fasting insulin values, with the Quicki index to determine Insulin resistance
    • Thyroid functions
    • Other hormonal and/or blood  screens (as per indication)

Step 2: Interpretation and Goal setting

All the information of the screening assessments will be analyzed and incorporated to set goals according to your specific needs.

Step 3: Intervention

After the goals have been set, intervention is initiated. This would include personalized diet and exercise guidelines, medical intervention and other lifestyle adjustments to meet your set goals. This plan to reach your goals will be explained and discussed with you in detail.

Step 4: Follow up and Long Term Maintenance

Regular follow-up is of paramount importance to stay motivated while adjusting to your new healthy way of living. The follow-up plan includes:

  • Diet follow through and adjustments
  • Tailoring of lifestyle adjustments (diet/exercise) according to your personal needs
  • Serial body composition assessment at regular intervals to monitor progress on body composition
  • Weekly weigh-in sessions (if on weight loss program).
  • Regular assessment of your blood pressure, sugar/insulin levels, cholesterol and other risk factors which was found to be abnormal at initial screening
